Midwest is Best

I know I've talked about it many times before, but I love the Midwest. I lived in Iowa my whole life up until a few months ago whenI moved across the country. I do like my new life, but I can't help but miss the simplicity of the Midwest! So when I was browsing Etsy the other week and came across this t-shirt by Megan Lee Designs, I had to have it. As an early Christmas gift to myself I made the purchase. It always feels good to support independent designers via Etsy, and now I have an awesome shirt to wear with pride out on the East Coast. I wore it on Saturday to work and other Midwest lovers came out of the cracks and it was great to feel connected to random strangers in a small way. The city can be cold sometimes but just knowing I have something small in common with some of them makes it a little warmer.


I was obviously in a pretty good mood when I put this outfit together. I'm not afraid of bright colors, but this is a little crazy for me normally. I turned a few heads on the subway!
I'm excited for this week because Nick is done with finals and working for the semester so we will be spending much more time together than usual. I'm hoping we can go to the White House and check out the Christmas tree and have a fun festive week. We have a date tonight, so I better go get ready for that. Have a great week!
