Classic Outfit/ Fashion Show

This is a classic Kenzie outfit. Comfy dress, tights, belt, cardigan, and flats. It's a combination that I've been straying away from since I started this blog, but I still love wearing it. Since I've been blogging I've been more daring with my outfits and have tried lots of new things I'd never try in the past. In that time I've also ignored outfits like this that don't take much effort but I still feel fashionable in. But after years of this combination, I'm glad that my style has been progressing away from this combo every day. It's so easy to get in a style funk. Dresses also fit into that, not just jeans! The moral of the story is that I love this trusty combo and feel so happy and confident in it, but I also love my newer adventurous side. It's all about balance!

The doily collar I'm wearing here was a gift from one of my advisors when I was interning at Vitae Design Collective. I know I've talked a lot about Vitae on the blog, but I love it so, and miss it so! If you are in the Des Moines area, make sure to check it out for hand picked vintage and goodies made by local designers (including me!).
Vitae was recently featured in a local fashion show called the Accidental Industry Fashion Show in downtown Des Moines. Lacy Brunnette, Sarah Jae and Lucy Shay produced the show, and from the pictures it looked like it was amazing! I would have loved to attend. Even though I couldn't make it, a couple of my pieces where in the show. These pictures are from the Flickr, so make sure to check out all the wonderful Iowa made Holiday fashion!
Below are the dresses I made that were in the show, a gold brocade party dress, and a black dress with heart cut out in the back.
